About Lauren
Italian-American lyric coloratura soprano Lauren D’Ottavio brings dramatic intensity, musical precision, and compelling stage presence to every role she embodies.
Praised by industry professionals for performances noted for their dramatic specificity and vitality, Lauren’s artistry reflects an interdisciplinary training path that integrates theatrical insight with a technically grounded vocal foundation.
Her full operatic roles include Mother (Hänsel und Gretel), First Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Nannetta (Falstaff), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), and Zerlina (Don Giovanni). She is currently revisiting the role of First Lady and preparing to perform in English with Amore Opera (January 23–February 1, 2026, New York City).
Lauren's opera scene portrayals include Musetta (La Bohème), Norina (Don Pasquale), and Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), among others. In addition to opera, she performs musical theater and oratorio repertoire, with work spanning Baroque through contemporary styles.
Lauren holds a B.A. in Vocal Performance and Theater & Performance from Bard College and an M.A. in Music Education with a specialization in Voice and Vocal Pedagogy from Columbia University. She intentionally pursued an interdisciplinary graduate path to deepen her technical foundation while continuing private vocal study and professional training, shaping her work as a versatile, dramatically focused soprano.
